[Flintlock1640]

This has got to be one of the coolest guns I've ever owned. Deeply engraved/chiseled iron furniture typical of the work done in the Brescian area of Northern Italy. There are Fleur de lis carved into the stock in several places making me think it was custom made for a French officer or nobleman. I would say this is ca 1650s given the style. What do y'all think?

More photos. There are two additional fleur de lis I neglected to photograph. There is one on each side of the side plate and one at the entrance to the rear ramrod pipe.

Very cool! The butt cap is amazingly done. The chisel work is so deep I would have thought the parts were cast.
(Was it a half stock or is part of the forestock gone?)
