Picked this up (dirt cheap) recently at a local gunshop. I think stock is maple?Lock is marked Maslin Warranted. Barrel is a Douglas “GR Douglas” 45 cal.

The lock was really gummed up and nothing worked. Took it out and cleaned it and everything works as it should now. I like the rifle a lot. Would like to hear you guys thoughts on it

Nice rifle and I'm pretty sure the stock is maple. The lock has nice appointments and eye appeal. If it were mine the sights would have to go they are way to modern for that style and getting it cheap is a major achievement.

The Lock looks to be CVA. The hammer has been heated, likely to get a better hammer position on the nipple. That's ok as I have had to do that a lot on my guns. You can have a lot of fun with this rifle.
