Well - Final control still seems to be a serious problem for our Italian friends !
My shooting buddy was one of the first to purchase the then new Pedersoli Kuchenreuter Pistol , SerNo 10 .
After the first string of 13 shots , the sear nose broke . Having got a replacement ( after a loooong time ) , the spring broke ... Also after a loooong time , he got a new spring - after the third shot , the stock broke ...
The main issue from the third or fourth shot on was , that it became nearly impossible to load the next shot without throughout cleaning ...
Completely confused , my good friend considered this entire pistol as complete chunk , took it apart , kept the barrel and threw away all the remainig parts as far as he could . !
Now , after several years , he gifted me the barrel .
The scope shows the main problem :
After a good polish with finest steel wool and some chrome polish , this left hand drill barrel shouldn't be too bad , therefore I tried my hands to turn out something functional .
After lapping the inner surface of the barrel , I decided to fill the cutout for the underlug , adding a new sight . and make a completely new and different pistol .
Some of You already know , that I'm a complete fan of the Ruggles style ( only four moving parts ! ) pistols but I'm also aware of the superb handling qualities of the great Billinghurst works of art .
Therefore I started to make a blend from the the best of both :
Barrel : Remake of a Kuchenreuther
Lockwork / system : Remake of the original Ruggles - Patent - Underhammer
Stock : ( With a little phantasy ) : Billinghurst
and YES : Now it's a shooter !
Thanks for watching
