Welcome to the week-end folks, and here is my completed rum horn. After seeing Jeff Down's scrimshaww work I am tempted to have a go at adding to this piece. I think a picture of a young wench may be appropriate, something light hearted certainly. Any ideas?

Hey Doc!
I see you have a strap on there, you tried it on yet? I'm not sure but you might get a surprise when you do....
could you get a couple of pics in the light for us? they're a bit hard to see.
but still looks pretty good from what I could tell!

Good evening folks, I have taken the above comments on board and made some changes to my rum horn. I have improved the strap attachment and added some basic scrimshaw. I am no artist, as you can see, but I have created something that looks PC and probably reflects the artistic talents of your average settler. I based the lady in th epicture from a fugure in a pen & ink drawing by William Hogarth (circa 1740). I have also taken more care with the photography.

The horn ahs undergone some 'field tests' and performs admirably. It is unlined and merely relies on tight fitting parts to remain booze-proof.

The plug on the bottom would make me nervous. Hook it on a branch, and you lose the entire contents.
