No, the stock was first finished with stain then several applications of tung oil. I don't put wax on until the final oil application has cured. Using shoe polish instead of paste wax tends to make the colors "pop" as well as give it a little more depth and more sheen without making it too shiny.
That’s funny, let’s just say I try and keep my deer as close as possible and I dont want any chance of spooking them whatsoever. Maybe I’m being over cautious, but I have kept the practices of a bow hunter even while hunting with my BP rifles. No reflections and blending in with nature equals a good hunting season.
