The North-South Skirmish Association will hold its annual Spring Nationals May 19-23 at Fort Shenandoah, its 800-acre campground and range just north of Winchester, Va.
The N-SSA is made up of more than 200 teams, each of which replicates a unit that served in the Civil war. Members shoot timed competitions in revolver, carbine, musket, breechloader and smoothbore. In addition, some teams fire mortars and artillery as well.
Although firing is limited to N-SSA members, all are invited to come watch the competitions, talk guns with skirmishers and stroll (and spend money at) our Sutler's Row. There's no better place on earth to find Civil-War-era firearms and accoutrements, both original and quality reproductions.
More information about the N-SSA, maps to the Fort, full detailed schedule of events and a bulletin board may be found at the N-SSA Web site, linked below.
Hope to see many of you there!
