Does anybody out there have a North American Arms Companion Mini Revolver?

In case any of you dont know, its the .22 cap and ball version of their mini revolver. They make it in a "long rifle" and "magnum" version.

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with these things and what they think about it.

I don't have one but they look very interesting. I would like to see some ballistics data on them. Looks like it might be a neat hide out gun.

I emailed NAA some years back and they told me that the fps was in the 500+ range. I don't remember the exact figures. I remember thinking that it was in the .22 short velocity range.
I believe they were using 30gr conical bullets.

I have two of them--both are the Civil War Companions with an extra cylinder. They use a proprietary bullet and about 5 grs. of ffffg. They are a lot of fun to play with. They take getting used to, though, as they are really small.

Russ T Frizzen,

Thanks for responding. I used to have a rimfire version of their gun and liked it. I just wanted to see if anyone here had the blackpowder version and what they thought of it. Its nice that they use so little powder, you must get lots of shots from a pound of powder.

I'm thinking hard on this one... :hmm: that gun buyin' bug is a bitin'.

They are of fine quality and are made of surgical stainless steel. I have hard rubber grips on one of them and mother of pearl on the other. They make great pocket or tacklebox guns. I think they are a very good value.
