was wondering the quality of navy arms 44 cal revolver, comes with a bullet mould and all the accessories for 100 dollars, I would try to do some horse trading for a sheridan air rifle and 308 amo. I think it is a remington, new army, style revolver, meaning the cylinder cannot be placed in from the top. fixed sights but I think the front is adjustable for elevation, looks sort of like a shotgun bead, a steel frame but brass trigger guard, cylinder seems tight, and has a nice trigger. My only concern is that the barrel steel seems thin compared to say a ruger new army.

Navy arms quality as a rule is very good, but their only a importer & not a maker. I sure don't see how you can get hurt paying only $100. I for sure would not worry about the barrel being thiner than a Ruger!

If the gun & other stuff is in good cond. I'd buy it if I were you!

The barrel on my Remington New Army (1858) .44 caliber pistol measures .108 thick at the muzzle.

Never had a problem with it. :)

I own several Navy Arms toys, 2 1858, 1 1860 and 2 Muzzleloading shotguns. They were all made by Pietta and good quality. I say buy it and enjoy it, sound like a good buy. IMO

If it has a steel frame and is in good condition then it is worth more than $100. 1858 Remington steel models come with a brass trigger gaurd. If it has adjustable sights then it is called a target model.

I would not worry about the barrel thickness, but you will get a better gun from a Uberti dealer.

"Navy Arms Ltd." is a Uberti dealer, and the revolver in question is most likely just that,--a Uberti.

Shoot a $100 and you have to ask!? I think if you can get any firearm for less than $200 go for it.

I have 1851 colt nav,1858 rem, 1860 army, 1858 buffalo, and a 1873 cattleman bp revolver.

The rem is my favorite and most reliable revolver. Like the 60 army and the 1851 for balance and trigger pull, but for some reason on the colts seem prone to caps falling inside and jamming them up. Had it happen a few times...Had to disassemble the darn thing right there at the range! The rem just keeps on firing no matter.

Long winded, bottom line just have fun!

where did you find a navy arms revolver for a $100.I sure would like to buy one for that price.please let me know .thanks

Speaking form just my neck o' the wood $100.00 is a fairly common price for a used (reproduction) ball and cap revolver as they rarely go for more than that amount.
