Went into Sportsman's Warehouse today to pick up a patch worm, looked down to my left and there they were. Real, honest to GOD, English flints. Course they only had one size (5/8") but they HAD 'em. Could'a knocked me over with a feather.

I hope that when you recoved an up right position
that you bought them ALL. If you think you can't
find the money,,wait till tomarrow

Hey Bill

I was surprised to see that they had flintlocks at all, a full stock "Pennsylvania rifle" to boot!
They even had a Harper's Ferry rifle in the racks a while back, but it was some kind of over priced ornately engraved Lewis & Clark commemorative gun.......ohh well
They do get some things right, but I still see a lot of in-lines on the shelves

I still prefer to get my supplies from Bob @ Muzzle loading and more because among other reasons, he carries REAL black powder!

it's a cold fact of economics that stores are there to turn a profit. so each dollar you have is like a vote. vote yes in stores you like, and vote with your feet in stores you don't like.

remember Jesse and the "rainbow coalition?' now, i'm not his biggest admirer, but the fellow does have an eye for technique, if nothing else, and it doesn't take a lot of fiery rhetoric, just a few well placed dollars to convince a merchant that the market likes one product and doesn't like another.

in other words, you did but the flints, didn't you?

No, didn't buy 'em as I don't use anything that small. Been buying RB and patches, as well as the occassional "accessory".

I find that the kit containing the cleaning rod tip, patch puller, vent pick and tin of pre lubed patches was a VERY handy find!
Bill....did you see the powder horns they have there? :shake:

Didn't pay any attention to the horns as I already have a very nice one, thank you.
