Need help locating a sawmill

Good mornin' all,
I have a piece of crotch walnut that has some wonderful curl & figure to it. The piece is approx.16-18" wide x 30" long x 4" thick. I would like to have some pistol blanks/ stocks cut from it. Does anyone know of a mill near Ripley Co.( S.E.) Indiana who could perform this work?

i don't think you need a mill. look for a freind with a bandsaw.

There was a sawmill on Laughrey Creek rd. Near Milton In.
Last time I passed it did not have much activity.

There are a couple of Amish guys near Pleasant doing woodworking. Also a band mill on 129 near the road to Canann. Obviously they don't have phones.

Try the Old School Restaurant on 129. Bet someone there knows one. Or go south on 129 until you see "Amish tracks" in the road. Ask someone in a buggy.

I guess what I meant to say/ ask was how best to saw the slab for strength and figure, I realize this may not be possible to answer without seeing the piece. Thank you gentlemen

I wonder if a local school's woodworking shop would allow one of their students to split it for you... :hmm:

you dont' need a mill for this. what you need is a specialist. Call up weing and they will have you send the block to them and they will do the cnc thing and send it back to you.
