I have this flintlock 44 cal, made in Italy XXV PN and it has this little "mountain" symbol I cannot make out the name ?????soli (PEDERSOLI?) #2878 can anyone clear me up on #'s or such?

Davide Pedersoli - probably the best of the large scale makers of replica weapons of all types and eras, from matchlock of the Japanese Tanegashima and English Civil War styles to the latest Schuetzen styles of the late 1800's.

PN - pulvero ***** - Italian of black powder [only].

The serial number is the serial number - sorry I can't help you with a date of manufacture - Pedersoli don't provide such information to the public, but you could try their website -

But don't hold your breath. They are under no obligation to help you trace a production number. In the EU such figures are often treated as commercialin-confidence in order to preserve the integrity of the company and to prevent frauds.
