Just got my first original (except for finish) 1858 and was wondering if anybody got 'Remington Army and Navy Revolvers' book by Donald Ware and can look up ser # for me.
Fantastic, thanks a lot. Do you know by any chance how can I look up any military records regarding this serial #?According to the book, yours falls within the August 1864 serial number range (89, 261 - 96,520).
I'm not sure. I'll look through the book again when I get a chance, but I don't think there is anywhere in it that breaks down which pistols were shipped where, just that this many pistols were shipped to the Govt. on such and such a date.Fantastic, thanks a lot. Do you know by any chance how can I look up any military records regarding this serial #?

There both great guns. Just post if folks would like to see pictures.Actually, going by the photos your New Zealand gun is in better condition, hasn’t been refinished.
