Hello All, Just picked up this trade gun, barrel is about 33 1/2" and seems to have not been cut, ramrod is steel and of slightly tapered round stock, lock is 6 3/4" and I cannot make out any marks on it, overall the gun is 50 1/2" also the cloth in pic two was holding the flint when I got the gun.

:thanks:

It's probably pretty late, with the reinforced cock neck. Gonna need a few more pics to pin down exactly what it is.

Round backed plate, reinforced cock, home made steel on an incredibly old looking piece of wood. Almost a shame that the lock fits the mortice so well.

Also incredibly straight, we have to see what happens to the left of this pic

French or Belgian, 1770 onwards
Very similar to French 1774-76 musket lock, but it has a more "heart shaped" throat in the cock and the lockplate is a bit shorter at the front
more pics please! :)

will have more pic's tomorrow, thank you all for the help so far.
