They also make great little pouches for tobacco and your fire starting kit. Sew up any openings, then make a new opening slit between the two front paws. To use it, you put your stuff in it, then pull it up through your belt/sash and let the head hang down over your belt/sash.
And some people will attach a strap to the front paws so that they can use it as a shoulder pouch or neck pouch.
The other version has the slit right in the middle of the belly, and running lengthwise instead of across. To use this one, you put stuff in each end and then loop it up and over your belt/sash. That "slit belly" stays closed through pressure from your belt/sash. A mink pelt might be a little short to use as a Slit-Belly pouch.
