Hey fellers, made another collaboration with the Missus.
Made a Nessmuk style knife with elk for a grip and added a little pewter to dress it up a bit. Then I antiqued it so it wouldn't look too new and put a real keen edge on it.
Miss Tudy put it in a beavertail and rawhide sheath to finish out the package. She added a couple of beaded beaver hide drops and a deer horn toggle to hold it in your sash.
Thanks for lookin and hope y'all like it, Bud & Miss Tudy

I like that sheath alot. I have been looking to make one for a knife and I haven't seen anything that really struck my fancy. Now you've got me thinking. Well done, Tim

When I was a teenager, I actually mailed a frozen beaver tail to a friend of mine who said they make great knife sheaths. I never did get to see how it turned out, but my friend told me it turned out nice. Now, I finally get to see a beaver tail sheath. Looks really fine. You do good work.

I gotta ask, do you just skin the tail, then dry it and salt it, then lace it back together? Or do you put some kind of preservative on it? Bill

Thanks fellers, we get the beaver tails from a friend of mine who tans them using antifreeze. Miss Tudy only puts it on the front and uses elk rawhide for the back. Then she has some kind of concoction that she applies to the whole sheath.
As always, thanks for the kind comments...Bud

Bud, I keep telling you that Miss Tudy is a keeper and hey the knife ain't bad at all either! :haha: Great work on the both of them, the knife and the sheath!
