Never ever accumulate too much shooting stuff. Going through mine I found 1,000 CCI caps bought years ago and totally forgotten about. Thinking I had no caps a while back, when the opportunity came my way, I bought a thousand more RWS caps. Now I have more than I'll use for quite a while. If I hadn't accumulated so much stuff I'd have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow much sooner. Let this be a warning to you.

As long as they are kept dry they will last for longer than you will. So just remember it helps to organize so you know what you have.

I picked up a tackle box with some black powder stuff in it in an on-line auction a couple of months ago. found almost 2000 caps and hundreds of .445 balls and a bunch of cast bullets in it. dug further and found the Lyman molds and hand for both. none of which was pictured in the add. pretty good buy for $20, don't ya think?

You must have Leprechauns in your family, because all I ever find at the end of rainbows is mud!

And you see this as a problem 😄

I was reorganizing my unmentionable ammo and found out I had 2000 rounds of a particular rifle caliber--this happened right before I was about to order a few hundred more rounds of some I'd found on sale back around 2018 or so. It's a good thing I hadn't placed that order.

I also ended up with more .490 balls than I needed for my Trapper pistol, too. I'd ordered a few hundred when I first got the pistol but forgot I'd put a few hundred of a different brand on back order before that. Oops. I'm sitting on just shy of 600 .490 balls from Hornady and Traditions. It'll be a long time before I need more of those.

Decades ago when Walmart was first coming to my area, They opened a new store near me so I went to check it out. I go up to the sporting goods counter and see tins of Remington #11 caps. I ask the lad behind the counter how much. He pulls out a box of 1000, holds up his little laser pistol and it goes "BEEP". He says "Four ninety nine". I said "I'll take three". Three thousand caps for fifteen bucks plus tax. I gave a box to a buddy. If all goes as planned, I'll have caps until they throw dirt over me. About the same time as the caps, I bought 1500 swaged round ball for the .54 and recently got 20 pounds of black powder (not exactly the plan but OK). Now I just hope I stay healthy long enough to enjoy a fair bit of it.

I still have 6 ot 700 caps for the tc Renegade I first started muzzleloading with probably 30 or so years ago. I rarely if ever shoot this gun anymore, but I'll keep the caps just the same.
