So I took the new Pietta Navy out to the range on Sunday and had a blast shooting it and another one of my Pietta revolvers. I meant to keep some of the targets to share but the place was so busy I didn't want to wait 20 minutes to retrieve them. It seemed to shoot about 1/34-2.5" at 15 yds. from a rest. I experimented with and without wads and tried charges of 15 and 18 grains of FFFg Goex. I also tried 20g of Pyrodex P and surprsingly the groups seemed more consistent with the Pyrodex. The Goex would have flyers but that could be me. The dissapointing thing was the nipples the RWS caps did not fit well on the 51' and the Remington #10's fit ok but unfortunately about 1 out of 10 would not detonate. The nipples were just weird they seemed rough and the caps didn't want to come off of them. In fact at one point I had to borrow a pait of needle nose pliers to get some of the spent caps off. I'll be looking for some replacements for sure. Oh, I forgot to mention both pistols seemed to shoot moderately better without the wad using a dab of wonderlube over the cylinder.
