Hi - I'm Cindy. I am interested in learning all I can about both mountainman and pirate tools and weapons. I have a .44 cal. flintlock pistol I built from a kit and customized. It's gorgeous but I am afraid to fire it!!! I'm very much into survival, hence the interest in mountainman/woman skills. But am also intrigued with the romance of the pirate era. Would LOVE to meet anyone local to me - Western Washington state, who could help me learn now skills as well as partake in re-enactments with. I have an awesome horse who would be incredible in civil war re-enactments!!

Hi Cindy, you will meet many new friends here who will help you learn the skills needed for your interests. There are many members here from the Washington area also. Good luck.

My interest in survival is what got me involved with learning primitive skills also. It sure makes muzzleloading a lot more fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome, folks! I'm already hooked on muzzleloaders and black powder but only the old-time, old-style stuff. I really think I was born in the wrong century cuz I'm so drawn to the past. My dream is to live off the land permanently but more as a nomad mountain-person than a cabin-dweller although that would be wonderful as well and alot more comfortable.
