I just bought a NIB Colt's 1849 Pocket model in .31 cal. I need to order some ball for it. The Colt Manual calls for .323" RB, which from what I measured is kind of big, for a .316" chamber size, and a 2" long loading lever?
Any of you all have one of these and shoot it?
Give me some ideas of ball size and loads.
I don't want to order 8# of 0 Buckshot .320" and find it too small!

The .320 balls seem to work fine in my Uberti pocket colt, don't know why they wouldn't in yours. If they are too small its not a total loss, just give them a wack to deform them and they will work just fine. I did that with some .315 balls, loaded them flattened side up and I was shooting just fine.
