Hello everyone.. New to the forum and the hobby. I am a new owner of a CVA Hawken .50 cal muzzleloader. I am still learning the techniques involved with shooting and cleaning the gun. Right now I'm getting over some fears in regards to the ramrod and the powder going off prematurely due to an ember. Sometimes its best not to Google stuff.. For now I plan on swabbing between shots with a patch lightly soaked in Windex.

anyways.. Hello everyone!

Welcome,
I started shooting black powder last year. My first gun was a CVA Hawken, although I now have a few others now.

They are good shooters and the price is very good.

Welcome to the forum. I have owned a few C. V. A. rifles from time to time and still own a mountain rifle. A patch wet with spit will do just as well and is cheaper...................watch yer top knot................

Welcome! Everything you need is right here. I still own several CVA rifles and they shoot good. Enjoy!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I can't wait to get back to the range to shoot some more. I'll make sure and post questions along the way. This forum looks like an awesome resource for folks new to traditional muzzleloading.

:hatsoff:
