new Dolep flinter fowler build

started on inletting the fowler today. this blank puts the "rock" in rock maple! hardest i have ever chiseled. 2 minutes work and 2 minutes sharpening.
will post pictures as i "progress" hope i progress.

Here is a fine example of a fowler in the style of Dolep , Cookson, and others from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is a great example of the styling and architecture common at that time.

man o man what a piece of wood that Kibler has.
thank you Dave! as i oft repeat, i can't create art but i am able to copy the heck out of it! have a brother and a sister that can pick up a stick in the woods and create stunning art with it. i pick up the same stick and it goes in the wood stove!
have the barrel half inlet into the stock.
2 passes with the scraper and have to resharpen. at this rate i may get it done before i die!
