Here is my second hawk forged from an old ball peen hammer head. It is getting addictive. Spent most of the summer scouring yard sales for old hammer heads. No idea what type of steel it is but it hardened up like 4140. No power tools were harmed in the making of this hawk which is the usual result if me using power tools. I also didn't have to buy more Band-Aids . Handle is from R.E. Davis CO. It is 20" long and head weighs @23oz. I used Aqua fortis to stain the handle. Thanks for looking. Any and all comments welcome.

Outstanding! I am starting to look for a hawk for the Indian Princess program I am in with my girls. I envy your ability to convert a cast off hammer into a beauty like that.

Outstanding forge work and A great looking finished product. Anyone would be proud to carry that.

I blame it all on you Anvil1231. It is your fault I started these hawks  You sir are a true "Master Hawksmith." Thank you all for the kind words.
