Here’s another dandy fresh off of the bench. 45 cal, fancy maple. This rifle sports a modest amount of incised and chip carving along the toe and forestock. Barrel is finished with 4440 blue and scrubbed back to give it what I refer to as the “dirty finish”. The lock is torch blue, except for the frizzen. The stock is stained with a combination of analine dye, ferric nitrate, and alcohol based stain and then sealed with tung oil finish.
