made a new handle for my $4 bowie knife that i got from the junk shope,i had this pice of branch that came from an australian bottlebrush tree it reminded me of an antler crown. so i did a little work on it and fitted it to the bowie i think it turned out ok the bowie dont look like a shop one now
looks home made.

windwalker,
Great job.Don't look at all like a junk store knife.
I know you posted the answer on another thread,
but is that just paint or dye on the sheath??

bernie,
Just wondering how it might hold up under
some wear, and do the colors hold some type
of signifigence(sp) to you or Austrailia?
John

john i just like yellow blue and red together, the paint is acrylic so once it dries and hardens after a couple of days it seems to ware quite well.

Good job tweaking that knife! Looks like it could tell some interesting stories. That handle gives it character :hatsoff:

dang bernie that handle does look good ,looks like an old piece of antler ,really a nice add-on

Hi Bernie,
That is beautiful.
Excellent work.
If you want I can send you one of my tobacco stakes that were in my barn.
They make nice knife handles or walking staff.
There well over 100 years old and came from my property which is in the cumberland mountains/wilderness trail,Daniel Boone land.
Free,no charge.
Just let me know.

tom its the best thing i have done to a knife it fits the hand so well feels much better than the old handle.

When you first put on photos, I was a bit skeptical. I didn't like the Pakkawood ahndle, etc., at all. The new handle, however, is first-rate! It changes the whole character of the knife. :hatsoff:

Got to say that's a real change from the first pics posted. I like that! Yessir I'd say you got a keeper there!
