Hello everyone
I just got a new Lyman 57GPR sight and need to sight it in. So I was wondering at what range most people sight one of these in at. I normally sight in at 25yards for both BP and unmentionables and then re-sight in at 50yards but wasn't sure that is what I should be doing with this sight. Thanks for any help.

Would line it up with the existing sights (if still on the barrel) and get on paper at 25 yards. I typically found that to zero them on TCs, shimming the base up and or using a lower front sight was required so the sight is not already adjusted high from the base at closer ranges.

I use washers to get the height that works with my front sight, then either make a shim to that height, or you could just leave washers (I use stainless ones). Every setup can be unique. Use different site rings for different situations. In a low light scenario may remove rings and use threaded hole in the sight as a ghost ring. I use a Lyman globe (AHB I believe) and Lee Shavers inserts for front sight.
