Good morning. I came across your forum looking for ways to safely unload my muzzleloader and to build a range rod. The muzzleloader was given to me but has been loaded for 20 years. Wish me luck!

Howdy from North Texas and welcome to the forum. It seems to be a pretty regular occurrence someone inherits, buys, etc a muzzleloader and it comes with a load in the barrel.
I wish you luck.
Try General muzzleloading or any forum section.

Welcome from S Louisiana. How to unload a muzzle loader.... try shooting the charge out. Remove the nipple if it's percussion and put some powder into the hole, cap it and give it a try. BP keeps a long time if kept dry.
