I asked because i have seen some hoof rasp's that were kinda thick. did you grind the teeth flat? :v

No grinders in my shop. It was forged and hand filed. Only electric I have is for a light over the bench and my radio.

Dennis, you said you have no grinders in your shot, any power tools? And do you use a coal fired forge?

I have a extension cord to run a light and a radio.
Coal only, sometimes hardwood charcoal. The way i figure it (for the last 20 yrs) is that if they could do it without power tools in the 18th C. so could I. It takes longer, hence no wholesale or volume stuff and I think that if I use period materials put together in a period correct manner, my customers get a knife, hawk, whatever that would compare to what would have been carried and used. Nothing against the power tool crowd (grinders and such) but it is just the way I have always done it. Also I can keep my prices down due to no hospital bills for stitches, missing fingers, limbs &ct from putting me near a power tool... :) :)

nice job, that is cool. i'll have to stop down and see your shop when I get home, i'm in Kuwait in the Army right now. Be home next year.
