terrorkiller, Can you remove the lock and show us the inside? Be careful not to pull out the front lock screw so that the ramrod spring doesn't get loose - put a piece of tape over it.

Fifteen pounds! That's a lot. Maybe a light oiling of the lock internals would help.

Also, the locks on these guns that I've been familiar with have a sear adjustment screw that you can see in the pictures below. If the lock has a bridle the screw is hidden behind it. If no screw but a place to screw one in then you need a replacement.

In the picture the screw is backed all the way out. In this position trigger pull is max. If you feel like you are done with this gun pm me to discuss it's disposal. View attachment 286872View attachment 286873
I have two locks with system. Didn’t realize it was for trigger pull.
I had a Spanish made 45 looked like the sear arm was bent so i replaced it with a different one. Seems it was bent for proper contact with the trigger. Got a split pin from hardware store , slipped it over the sear arm and it tightened up the trigger travel. Should have just put the bent one back in.

Correct! Some are bent down and some are bent upward. It's to make sure it has proper engagement with the trigger bar.
