Hi all
I just completed a new shot pouch which will be for use with my fowling piece when I get one.It is about 10" tall by 8.5" wide. Body of bag made from 2-3 oz. cowhide dyed in boiled walnut dye.The bag is lined in tan pillow ticking and is all hand sewn with hemp.It has one small inside, free hanging pocket for wads ect.The strap and flap are Elk hide [from Beaverman] that I also dyed in walnut. The strap holds a small French knife from TOW as a patch knife,a powder measure/shot measure and a vent pick I made from heavy copper wire. The powder measure and vent pick 'cords' are braided and waxed hemp. The button on the front is homemade from a wheat penny [pounded and dished out] with a copper wire eye and lead backed. I added a small sheath that slips over the bag straps to hold a Ft. Meigs hatchet on the back of the bag. I believe I will shorten the hatchet handle a couple of inches. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
