New to casting

[Hawken1820.50cal]

Ordered a Lee Precision double cavity mold 300g conical.

Question:
I'm used to the performance of the Hornady greatplanes 385g, so if i was to try to handbdrill the botoms out concave for expansion, would I have good results, or should I not consider this and use a wad under?

Not new to shooting just wanting more "hands on" in my hobbie.

Try it. Personally I wonder how difficult QC will be, as in every cavity being perfectly centered and wallowed out enough to keep the weight of each projectile within what you consider acceptable tolerance.
