I recently purchased a TC Penn. Hunter stock, complete, flintlock, with a Hawken .50 flinter barrel, which fits fine, as the barrel is the same 15/16 ATF's. The stock has been refinished with several coats of Tung oil, beautiful, barrel is minty, with 2 extra touchhole's , lock has frizzen replaced with Lyman frizzen, and a extra one plus original. Has TC hunter peep sight, bead front. Barrel is a older one, guy who had it bought it new, factory TC Hawken, early 1970's, hunted with it, and took great care of it, was one of the barrels made by Douglas. He has mostly used RB, and occasionally maxi ball slugs. I have taken a ton of deer with TC Maxi Hunters and Hornady great plain slugs, have several molds, was wondering if I would have any issues with a flinter and maxi balls? I have had several rock locks over the years, but just never could get into them, was shooting a lot of percussion in competition at the time. This is to be hunted with only, on my bucket list to take some deer and maybe a bear with a flint rifle. All replies welcome gents!
