Good find. I hope it works out well for you.

I had two Renegades. One an older .54 that would shoot RB and a .50 that I couldn’t hit the side of a barn whenever using RB. It did shoot Maxi Balls very well and served me well.

I’d like to have another.54 Renegade but I already have a .54GPR.
 
only number on the gun is 1972. there is an M on the bottom flat.
 
That looks like a TC Cherokee, I don't think Renegades came in .45, and don't have brass furniture.
You are correct sir. That’s definitely not a Renegade but rather a Cherokee!

No brass furniture on the Renegade. Isn’t offered in .45 caliber either. Also the lock plate and hammer are Cherokee.

Renegade and TC Hawken uses the same lock.

Now that I'm on my desktop I can plainly see that it's not a Renegade. However, you did good on the price.
