Welcome to the fun. I like you am new to black powder shooting and shoot left handed due to my dominant eye. I also am a wood worker and a machinist and have built several CF and RF rifles.currently have no desire to build a BP rifle due to having many irons in the fire. I would suggest you be patient and look around for a gun that suites you.with that said deals can come up and you may have to act quickly.

I fell across a great deal a few months ago from a friend of mine. Bought a small collection of 5 guns for only $750. One being a custom RH flinter and another a new Lyman great plains left handed percussion. I am set for now and enjoying the smell and the slow pace.
