Says it is set in NY in the 1860's right after the end of the War. I saw the commercial, but wasn't 1/2 paying attention, when the revolvers grabbed my attention. It's on BBC America.

Hmm, hadn't heard a thing about this one till now. Checked out the trailer, not sure its anythin I want to watch but I will give it a chance to grab me. Thanks for the heads up.

I am looking forward to watching it tommorrow night at 10 PM on BBC America. The trailers on BBC intrigued me. The setting is NYC in 1864 with the main character being an Irish policeman in what appears to be the Five Points district. The fact that he is carrying a percussion revolver adds to the realism.

I will be watching it like I watch Hell on Wheels aired by AMC.

Watched The Making Of Copper this morning on BBC. I think it has potential. Looks Like Sunday night may be my "TV night" with Copper and Hell on Wheels back to back.

They are also going to remake the "RIFLEMAN" series. :) Remember Chuck Conners with the special 92 Winchester?

Well I watched the first episode last night and I think it may have some legs under it. Very gritty, very dark. I think they are very much in toon with what was going on in 1860's new york.

Eh...jurys still out, I need to watch another episode or two...majorly disappointed to see cartridge's in the pistols...but that really turned out to be my only gripe about it so far. I've certainly seen worse shows.

I'm not sure the exact time period but this is about the time that cartridge conversions show up and Smith & Wesson already had a patent out for the drilled through cylinder. I'm looking foward to tonights episode. Along with Hell on Wheels.

I know they were not using S&W's. I was trying to make the point that cartridge guns were available. I wasn't sure of the exact time period of the cartridge conversions but it appears they are roughly 4 years ahead of the colt conversions. Considering it's a BBC show I'm willing to grant that consideration. At least they aren't using 1892 winchesters. Cartridge conversions aside, the show does a good job of interpreting the corruption and darkness of New York city during the close of the Civil War.

I know I'm hard on programs like this. The way I see it, if they can't get something as simple as this right, what else are they not getting right? Just blows it for me. I will watch the next episode though.

The BBC reran the first episode Sunday. In the first scene where he is hid in the barn waitng for the bank robbers and is messing with his pistol it sounded like he dropped a shell into it but it had caps on it. The sound people always like to add lots of clicks and snaps where guns are concerned.
Now as far as Hell on Wheels is concerned, Dish dropped AMC and I can't watch it anymore. I am not too happy about that. But it's only a TV show I guess.
