Nipple advice

Has anyone shortened a nipple? The hole in Uncle Mike's hot nipple is larger than regular.

Yes sir and resizing. This rifle began life with a metric nipple threads, was switched to 1/4 28 angle not perfectly drilled and taped ,. hammer does not strike square
