First of all, welcome to the Forum!

Now for your answer! There are basically two types that will fit correctly: one is a Walker wrench that looks like a piece of flat stock steel with a set of lips on the end of it. The wrench runs around $10.95! The other way is to get a cross-key nipple wrench for large revolvers. Yet a third model by a different company has a small "T" handle at the top: this type comes in two sizes, one for the big Dragoons/Walker and one for the small cylinders like the 1860 Army.

If you plan on buying more than one size revolver in the near future, it's best to have at least two of each, so if (when!) you break one, you'll still be able to get the nipples off and clean the gun!

50 grains of 3Fg Goex, a wonder-wad over the powder and a .454 ball will do you well with your Walker...I win competitions with this load all of the time and have hit a torso-sized gong at 135 yards several times!

Again, welcome to the greatest BP Forum on the net!

I purchased the one sold by traditions for the standard rifle nipples. The one for most of the other pistols is too small.
