Can anyone tell me what the NMLRA rules are for sights. Specifically distance reqired from breach. THanks Sean

The rule book shows 6 inches min. from the back of the barrel with a breach plug or 6 inches min. from the back of a hooked breach.

Thanks, I was just curious. I was at a shoot today and one of the guys I beat was crying that my sight wasnt legal. that it had to be six inches from the breach. Mine is 8 inches from the breach to the rear sight.

Good point Mike, i was going to make up a period correct French rear sight for my Fusil a couple of years ago, then decided not to as it worked very well without and I did not want to put a rear sight on the round part of the barrel....

Here in the Texas Muzzle Loader Rifle Association (TMLRA) I am pretty sure it is 60 and over to be able to use peeps in any event. Any event that is unless it is the Crossly Match which is shot at 50 yds using only open sights no matter the age.
