I managed to finish a new cup of burl wood species unknown to me.
After oiled has a beautiful dark color without dyeing

Size 15x8,5cm, height 4,5cm,

Burl boiled in brine,
oiled with linseed oil,
leather strap

Why the boiling in brine? Thet's a new one on me. :confused:

The linseed oil could prove problematic. Any finish or oil have have tried comes off when used with hot liquids, milk, orange juice or alcohol. Mine, I believe cherry, does best with no finish at all. Been used for decades.
