I just returned from the voting precinct. AMAZING!!!

Several hundred people were standing in the pouring rain, patiently waiting to cast a ballot for their candidate.

The election workers were fast, courtious, efficient, happy.

No one appeared frightened that they would be shot, blown up, abused or harassed.

I have voted in 9 presidental elections and never remember experiencing fear as I cast my ballot.

My stepson just earned a purple heart trying to insure that someone else would have that priviledge. (schrapnel in the shoulder, you should have seen the humvee! baseball sized holes!)

Before the day is over, go and vote.

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!

 :imo:

You can bet your last nickel my wife and I will both go and cast our vote for freedom.

I've never seen the country so divided and polarized. Our church held a special prayer meeting Monday night from 7pm till 8pm 450 to 500 people attended and the local news came and covered the prayer meeting.

Wow, I never seen so much excitement about an election this one could effect many years to come.

Get out the vote! :redthumb:

Stopped on my way to work. I was #90 in a community of 2,500 and I watched maybe 20 cars drive past before I turned in. I'm sure they'll catch the ballet box on the way home.

If you don't vote, you got no right to complain about the situation, or the future, when it might get worse.

I have a polling station across the street from my house, but I have to drive 5 miles to a church to vote.... It's ironic but no big deal.... I took my 11 month old daughter and we pulled the lever.
I do have to admit SOME voter intimidation !!! I dress my daughter in her favorite blue overalls.... and some lady called her a boy. <grr-grr> She/Daughter didn't appreciate it and demained to speak with a polling administrator!!! <snicker>

I voted about three weeks ago by early ballot. Glad I did considering the lines around the polling stations! :shocking:

That's the first step in your daughter's plan for world domination (see photos section "My boys..")!

Haven't missed an election since I got back from Nam.
The name didn't influence my vote at all. Just like W's. :winking:

Voted early this year. When we went, saw the county judge who said they had over 800 early votes already. That's right at 25% of the registered voters in the county that had voted early, and there was 1 more day of early voting left. This is one hot election. I sure hope it turns out ok.

Just back from voting too- huge turnout, the judges said it's running about 50% at lunchtime and that's before the lunch crowds and after work voters. My son is volunteering at one of the party HQ offices for his HS PoliSci class- lots of calls for where to vote and how to ask for and get a provisional ballot. My precinct looked like about 50 or more provisionals handed out and I was about the 170th of 250-275 to vote there.

Sure is gonna be interesting tonight :)

I'm glad I voted early too. This morning a co-worker told me she waited in line for 20 minutes after she arrived at 6:30AM. Because of my hours I wouldn't have gotten there before 4:00 PM and I can only imagine what that would've been like.

just got back myself , no line , walked right up took about 5 min, checked to make sure i had no hangging chads and was outa there . they did move the voting place from the national guard armory here up to the LDS church.

that struck me as kinda odd, voting for president in a church ? I was laughing when i turned in my ballet and the lady ask me what was so funny ? So i said loud and clear , isnt this some vialation of seperation of chruch and state ?
she didnt think it was to funny so i said , i thought there wasnt suposed to be any political pictures or posters at the voting place and the lady say you are correct , have you seen any ?
welll nowwwwww said i , i just past a life size cut out of Kerry by the front door ! LMAO

one of the other ladys took of at a hard run . I met her on the way out the door . she said i didnt find anythin sir? at which i said its right here . Sir she said thats a holloween poster of frankenstin
OOOHHHHH!! said I LMAO gotta love small towns.

My Dad's present for my 18th was a ride to the court house to register to vote. He told me, I don't give a damn who you vote for....just vote. I haven't missed a one, yet.

Are you having an election?

How exciting

Yeah. We had one four years ago but the Illuminari gave it to Bush anyway. Cheney thought we wouldn't notice the swap. We'll see who gets elected and who else might get to be president this time.

The next one will be the scarry one - Hillary might be running. :shocking: Lord deliver us.

So. How often do you get to elect a king or queen?

So. How often do you get to elect a king or queen?

We leave that up to God, it is a Divine appointment.

There are, however, rumours of a February election for Parliament.

England always elects the middle England conservative as Prime Minister. Recently that has been Tony Blair (Labour) because he is more conservative than the Conservatives, (although they are now fronting Micheal Howard, a renowned prison builder).

History says that Blair will win a third term because he won a foreign war, which is a surefire recipe for electoral success because we like that sort of thing. Thatcher (Conservative) won after the Falklands, even the abysmal John Major (Conservative)won after Kuwait.

OTOH, no Labour government before has ever won even a second term so we are way out in uncharted waters here.

There is no clear pro-gun candidate because the anti-gun faction seems embedded in the unelected part of government.
