Does, anybody have a north star west trade pistol. I really like the look of them, I was thinking of getting one in the white, if you have one or have see one how well do the locks work. I would like to get one in a 62 cal.

I don't have the pistol but I have the officers musket from them. The quality of the lock on it is excellent. It throws big sparks with just about any rock I've put in it. After many many years of use (and some minor abuse) I needed to send the lock in for repair. The only thing it cost me was postage and I didn't think it was possible but it works even better now.

I have a NSW trade pistol in .58 from a kit. The guy that built it took great liberties with the kit & put a 12" bbl on it and slimmed the wood - a lot! It's a great looking and shooting gun. I also have, from the same builder, the.58 English Trade Gun, which he gave the same treatment. This pair are keepers( 'til I gone, then the kids will probably sell 'em in a minute!!). Bill
