Not many options these days if you want a proper lock. The best kit with correct lock is Danny Caywood's.

Track has a good one. I did it and got a set of plans taken from an original. That really helps. Very happy with track, just found the gun not a favorite after I was done. It didn’t point real well for my hold and I didn’t end up liking the short 36” barrel.
Sitting fox treated me well all through the buying process and was very happy with the product.

I'm contemplating a Pedersoli "Indian Trade Musket" for $1150 from Dixie. Not a kit, but one really should saw some brass off that sideplate to make it more authentic. Completely replace it better yet. TG screws could be placed more correctly. These things can be done piece by piece while still having a shooting gun.
Only a 36" long barrel but actual firearm quality steel, not resulphurised-high phosphorous-leaded screw stock.

Yeah, I am fussy. I am also a metallurgist who likes barrels made from steel designed for gun barrels.

Rather than designed for automatic screw machines. I have has seen what happens to screw stock barrels when something goes wrong.
