I have needed a bag to carry roundballs in, and found a non pc solution. I found a cloth Crown Royal whiskey bag, and a friend gave me another. the drawstring keeps it closed and there is plenty of room.
If I can scrounge some more I will need to figure a way to label them. They sure seem handy, especially for jags and other small stuff.

Aniversario Rum from Venezuela comes in a cool looking lace-up leather pouch that is somewhat larger than my other ball pouches.

I had some spare leather around and a Speedy Stitcher (Man has that thing come in handy). I have a ball pouch that (I think) T/C sold 30 or so years ago and wanted another one, but have been unable to find one, so I made some of my own. Here are a couple of copies of that pouch:

My grandkids liked them so much that I made one for each of them. BTW, the rivet that holds the drawstring thingie is an aluminum nail, cut off, with a small aluminum washer on the bottom.

What makes these bags real nice to use is a wooden neck and a stopper. Take a piece of broom handle and bore a hole through big enough for yer balls to go through. Put a long taper in one end so your stopper (which is the same taper) will hold (just like your horn stopper). Cut a groove around the circumference near the lower end. If you have a lathe it will be easier and neater. Stick the spout down in the bag far enough that you can wrap sinew around the bag where the groove is. That'll keep it where it belongs.

one squirel hyde makes a great ball bag you tan it hair off and use the tail as the draw string. THey do tan out nice and have a thick hyde. If you get a stitching awl they are easy to make

I aways wondered if ball bags are PC??

If you are talking about those little bags with wooden stoppers, yeah, they are. Neumann has a bundle of them in his Collectors Illustrated Encylopedia of the American Revolution. Whther they actually date back that far I don't know, but they are not a modern invention. Neumann also shows a couple of wood and horn containers.
