I had seen some big deer from a distance, looking across a canyon but couldn't sneek on them in the heavy oakbrush until I finally packed to the top of the Mt. and spent the night (10 degrees F)and sneeked down on them the next morn. Shot this one thru the neck at 20 yds. Took me 5 hrs. to pack it down to my truck.

Stumpy,

Take another look. That ain't a bearded guy holding that osage, it is a deer in a bearded guy costume. See them thar horns growin outa the hat??

That picture looks awfully familiar though. Did you just photoshop out the red felt off of one that you had last year? Nice job!

So the old photo trick is to hold the antlers out in front of you to make them look bigger, huh? :blah:

I'm always amazed at how the antlers survive on a road kill !!

( Nice one Deadeye! )

Wow Deadeye, that is bigger than my two PA eight point racks put together. Since we don't remember your story from last year, tell us "the rest of the story". Gun, load, public land or private. You done good.

Hey Wild, It works, don't it and I still have my elbows bent
If I'd a straightened them out I'd a had a world record. :blah:
Zman, it was public land and only a few hundred yds. from where I killed the one last yr. but very steep and rugged.
Hunters here(most anyway)think you have to ride a 4 wheeler
to hunt. They don't know it but they are not hunting, they're just riding. Find a place they can't go and you have it all to your self. I've seen guys in buckskins with a flintlock but riding a wheeler and they think they're traditional. One of my pet peeves but actually it keeps them away from me.
