Thanks to everyone -- all great ideas. Keep 'em coming.

You've given me enough "ammunition" to give the the confidence to volunteer to put on a unique shoot. Thanks.

On the team shoot. I have seen a smoothbore team shoot using a special set up. The base is a heavy steel square stock with the side about 1/4 inch thick. The opening must be big enough to place the cans of your choice. Steel coffee cans with
plactic snap lids was used when I seen the best one. A hole is cut in the front of the base. I have seen this hole be no bigger than an inch and a quarter. This hole is cut to be dead center of the water filled coffee can. A smaller empty can is placed on top of the plastic lid. Some kind of empty tin film canister was used on time. Perhaps an empty bean can with the opening on the plastic lid would work. Here is the set up. This is a smoothbore hunting partner shoot. One person will be loaded with a round ball for the "rabbit", the other loaded with shot for the "quail" Both shooters prime and get ready to fire. The rabbit hunter takes a shot at the hole in the steel base.
If the round ball goes through the hole the hydrolic pressure will blow off the plastic lid throwing the "quail" high in the air. Then the shooter loaded with shot gets a shot at a target
moving up very fast and coming down faster!
This was a very fun match but the water filled cans are only good for one hit. Our club was lucky
because we had a bunch of coffee drinkers!!!

I have been thinking about getting a dueling tree to shoot at our informal shoots. Should be fun at 30 to 50 yards, have to shoot fast as well as accuratly.
