Yesterday me and my 20 year old son took a 2 hour drive up to the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield Missouri to see the NRA Museum they have built there.

I went to see what kind of guns they had of the pre-1840 era.

Right off the bat in the second set of display cases is a couple of original Hawken rifles.

I will post pictures later but I must say it is one nice museum and worth going to. It is not very big and is just one hallway not even 75 years long but it is quality.

Have you been? Did you like it?

Sounds neat. Have't been but will put it on my list when I'm in the area.

Been to the museaum at the headquarters in Virginia, incredable! Good to see their "spreading it around" so more folks can have the opportunity to see some of the fantastic stuff they have.

I haven't been there for about a year. Last time we were there they didn't have the Hawken's. Since we are only 30 min. away from there I must go look. Thanks for the heads up.
