 I'm planning on attending the NRLHF EASTERN PRIMITIVE RENDEZVOUS this Sept. I'm planning to have a plank with a list of boards that I frequent listed at our camp. MLForum will be on the list. I'll be staying with my good friend Mike Shubert from York, PA. We are members of the ROC - http://rangersoftheohiocompany.org/ He's invited me to be his camp guest his year. It's also a great day trip for anyone interested in getting some eye candy, or buy some needed items, for the ML enthusiast. All the info is on their web site @: http://epr2009.webs.com/ If you make it, look for the MLForum at our camp. :v

I have the good fortune to live just 15 miles away on the other shore of the Sus-Q.

It is one of the better sites for the eastern with lots of history in the area. Valley Forge and Gettysburg both about an hours drive from the site. And Cresap's War & Fort (1732 to 1737) was a just a dozen miles north on the west shore of the river. Philadelphia is about 90 miles east.

About 30 miles NE is the Daniel Boone birthplace and homestead.

Just an hour North along the river is Girty's Notch, where river pirates would slaughter settlers and steal their possessions. About 90 minutes south to Baltimore and Ft McHenry and another 40 minutes to DC.

Less than a couples miles from the camp, the Susquehannock Indians carved petroglyphs on the rocks ablong the river.

Adding to zimmerstutzen's list of local sites.....
about 45 minutes N you have the Ephrata Cloister and slightly closer is the Landis Valley Museum. In the same area you also have the town of Lititz - the Moravian church there was a hospital for soldiers sent from Valley Forge. There is a memorial there marking the remains of 130+ unidentified patriots. Near Daniel Boones homestead you have Hopewell Village, a restored 18th century iron furnace. The list goes on and on..

Hey fiddler, I don't want to highjack the thread but did you finally get your tent back. I read/heard that RT ended up having it. Hope all is well n see ya up at Dixon's the end of the month YMHS Birdman

hey Birdman,

Heck yea I got my tent back. RT threw in an extra set of poles for my fly, a duffelbag for my tent and a cool handmade arrow. RT's a good man. The unemployment situation decides how many days I'll be at the EPR but I'll be there. I can't pass up EPR when it's so close to home.
