well....not only did I finally find a job, but I managed to get off on 9/25 & 10/2! So it looks like I'll be able to make it after all. I'm going to setup 9/25, then head back to work the first Monday and comeback for the last weekend. I'll have a couple pilgrims with me for the first weekend. I managed to scrounge up enough clothes and mocs to dress 'em. My daughter will be joining me on Saturday after she takes her SATs. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for her to setup her spinning wheel. My dad's scout troop had such a good time at the Lancaster County Longrifles event that they are coming back and it sounds like they will be camping in the modern area vs. across the lake at the campground this time. So I look forward to seeing you all!

My office window overlooks one of the highways (Pa RT 24) that leads to the bridge between Lancaster and York counties just a few miles from the site. I just saw a truck loaded with tipi poles headed south.

Sure wish I could play a little hooky today.

I was at the opening ceremony and stayed to the closing ceremony. It seemed like there were a lot of folks that left early, starting on Wednesday. I know I had a good time andf didn't want to leave Sunday.

sad too! I didn't make the eastern but seems the "flush" occurs at every vous,,,worst part is :cursing: bet most who left way early,were there way early! why they ever changed early setup to wed, is beyond me,,,,seems people can take wed-fri off work for a good spot at a vous, but wouldn't take of mon-fri to be AT the vous,,,I have no problem with those workin the vous orsutlers or anyone staying till the end (or least near..) but to come wed. grab a spot an leave monday jus frosts me... :cursing: okay done whinin wished I coulda made it...how was the shootin??

You know, I am sorry to say this is the 1st national event I have ever gone to that I didn't even get my gun dirty. I didn't even get to the range.
Just a reminder. I don't know about you but putting on a quality national event takes a lot of work. Next time you go to a national volunteer your services. Do a shift on the gate or a 4 hour watch in the middle of the night. Those hosting & running the event really appreciate it.

boy I shoulda seen that comin.........I've "worked" or helped at more nat'l vous than I've not,,usually part of the shoot program,an whenever something was needed..I,we tried to pitch in.,,but seems it's the same people doin the work all the time.don't know which aggravates me more,the ones who b*tch cause somethin ain't to their liking,but won't step up, or the ones that assumes whoever b*tches doesn't do anything,,I help,I pitch in..I can b*itch.
