Whew!!! We almost had a hand-picked PeTA freak to head up the DEC. We got a biologist whose whole family hunts! She's also the first woman to hold the office and that will satify the mugwumps in NYC.

how the heck does something like that almost happen when people know that P.E.T.A. would do what they could to close down hunting :shake: or add cats and dogs to the hunting list :surrender: :v ..............bob

It would shock you to know just how many antis are in management level positions within the ranks of state and federal wildlife and natural resource agencies. Even here is Alaska we have them.

Seems like a conflict of interest to have a active anti-hunter managing a resource that most state mandates require be managed for the good of the resource and the for the benefit of the people of the state of _______________ (fill in the blank). IMHO.

I have received word that the new DEC Director of Fish, Wildlife, and Marine Resources (filling Gerry Barnhart's vacant position) will be Patricia Riexinger. Ms. Riexinger started with DEC in 1976 and spent most of her time working in the Fish, Wildlife, and Marine Resources Department as the Freshwater Wetlands Program Manager. Ms. Riexinger will be attending our annual convention on September 14th.
