Ohio 2016-2017 proposed deer season dates

ODNR has submitted the annual recommendations for the upcoming season to the Ohio Wildlife Council, the public input open house day is March 5 at the four district headquarters. Looks like a repeat of last year, with the same bag limits (by county) and no real changes to the seasons:

Deer Archery - 24 Sep 16 - 5 Feb 17
Youth Deer Gun - 19-20 Nov 16
Deer Gun - 28 Nov - 4 Dec 16 and 28-29 Dec 16
Deer Muzzleloader 14 - 17 Jan 17.

My guess is the Council will approve the limits and dates as written, and the early October muzzleloading doe only season tried in 2013 and 2014 won't be coming back.

The Ohio Wildlife Council approved the 2016-2017 Deer Season dates with some changes to the recommendations:

Bow - 24 Sep 16 - 5 Feb 17
Youth - 19-20 Nov 16
Gun - 28 Nov - 4 Dec 16
Gun - 17 - 18 Dec 16 (this is a change and reverts back to the "old bonus" weekend)
Muzzleloading - 7 - 10 Jan 17
