I hope to post some pictures soon; however, I wanted to know if any of ya all had seen a shotgun such as the one I am going to describe.

The name on the side of the shotgun says Fischer on one side. The stock is high combed on the left side and some fancy carving and checkering. Has a bone trigger guard that is large enough to almost form a pistol grip. However, the MOST unusual feature (for me anyway) is the fact that it has mechanical safety caps that cover the nipples. These caps are sprung and come in from the front of the opposite side of the hammers. The hammers will still come down with the caps in place but the caps prevent the hammers from hitting the ignition caps. Very unusual to me. This shotgun appears to be about a 20 gauge.

I really like the shotgun but it is too rich for my blood. The local gun shop already has a $1000.00 dollar offer for it.

I will try to get some pictures to post.

You mean sorta like this one ?

Here is another unusual one. It has a safety on each hammer, you cock the hammer & then push the safety down.

Those top two pictures are nearly identical to the shotgun that I have been looking at. Strange safety caps and black bone trigger guard.

What do you suppose a shotgun like that is worth, and do you know the maker and the year of the one that you have the pictures of?

If I remember the story correctly, a lady bought that at a auction for ? $160. or something like that recently. Then she has it out for offers on consignment wanting highest offer, and at the time thinking it will bring 4-5K. Could possibly be the same shotgun & possibly she has had a reality check now. I thought it was in TX but the area is close to OK so possibly it is there. I think the trigggerguard is Ebony, but it could be horn. I thought about trying to buy it but it is really of no use to me other than a wall hanger as it is too nice to hunt with & too expensive for me to hang on the wall, and also I am not really into wall hangers. However, it is quite a nice looking shotgun & quite unique. If I remember correctly, it does have German touche marks.

The bottom shotgun with the safeties is mine & a 16 ga & one I used to pheasant hunt with. It is also German made. It is a good old shotgun & solid, but I don't pheasant hunt anymore so I will probably sell it next June at Friendship.
